Margarita Jello Shots

It’s is the kick-off of #BBQWeek and I’m sharing an easy recipe for margarita jello shots.
Jello shots are always a hit with the 21+ crowd at backyard barbecues. They are a refreshing way to cool down on a hot day.

Ingredients for Margarita Jello Shots
These margarita jello shots are a favorite recipe and super simple to make. The best part is you can use any flavor gelatin that you like.
Let’s get to it!
You only need a few ingredients to make these shots. (the exact measurements, nutritional information and full recipe are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post).
- Strawberry Gelatin Powder – or any flavor you like
- Coarse Salt – we used margarita salt
- Lime Slices
- Tequila – we used 1921, but use your favorite
- Water
- Gummies – optional

Kitchen Tools/Supplies
- Measuring Cup
- Condiment Cups (jello shot cups)
- Sauce Pan
How to Make Jello Shots
Bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
Pour the gelatin into the pan. Add your favorite tequila.

Mix well.
Pour into condiment cups filling them about 3/4 of the way.

Refrigerate for 2 hours or until jello is set.

Garnish with a lime slice.

Coat the rim of the jello shots with lime juice & roll in coarse salt. We used margarita salt.

Serve and enjoy!

Equipment

- Course Salt
- Limes – sliced
- Gummy Bears (optional)
Instructions
- Bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
- Pour the gelatin into the pan. Add your favorite tequila and mix well.
- Pour into condiment cups filling them about 3/4 of the way.
- Refrigerate for 2 hours or until jello is set.
- Garnish with a lime slice.
